Pre-stressed concrete wire (PC wire) represents a superior, low-relaxation steel wire extensively used to Pre-stress concrete structures. Its composition includes high-carbon steel, granting it exceptional tensile strength, and it adheres to stringent manufacturing standards due to its widespread utilization in critical infrastructures such as bridges and other essential constructions. PC wire offers versatility as it can be drawn into various diameters and tailored to specific stress load requirements. For applications where it is exposed to environmental elements, it can be coated with either galvanized or epoxy materials, similar to the treatment given to rebar. Furthermore, depending on the intended use, PC wire may feature a smooth, ribbed, or nicked outer finish.

 

PC Wire Types:

These pc wires are classified based on various factors such as diameter, intensity level, surface coating, and cross-section. Here are the common types:

Based on Wire Diameter: PC steel wire can be divided into 4.0mm, 4.8mm, 5.0mm, 6.0mm, 7.0mm, 8.0mm, 9.0mm.

Based on Intensity Level: PC steel wire can be divided into Low Relaxation PC Wire and High Tensile PC Wire.

Based on Surface Coating: PC wire can be categorized as: Uncoated PC Wire, Galvanized PC Wire and prestressed epoxy coated steel wire.

Based on Cross-section: PC wire can be classified as smooth prestressed steel wire, spiral rib prestressed steel wire, pressure wave (crimped) prestressed steel wire or nicks (indented) prestressed steel wire.

Specification:

Material: High carbon steel / SWRH82B

Diameter: 4.00mm - 9.00mm.

Standards: ASTM A 421, GB/T5223, BS5896, JISG3536, and required standard.

Packing: Packed in coils (around 700-1300kg/coil). Each coil is strapped by steel bands at 8 places, fully wrapped with anti-rust plastic & PP woven sheet.

Relaxation (%): ≤2.5

Elongation (%): ≥3.5
