Classification by material characteristics

PC strand, aluminum-clad PC strand, and stainless PC strand.

Classification by application

Prestressed PC strand, galvanized PC strand (for electric power), and stainless PC strand, where prestressed PC strand is coated with anti-corrosion grease or paraffin wax and wrapped with HDPE is called unbonded prestressed PC strand, and prestressed PC strand is also made of galvanized or galvanized aluminum alloy steel wire.

Classification by surface coating layer

It can be divided into (glossy) PC strand, galvanized PC strand, epoxy coated PC strand, aluminum coated PC strand, copper-coated PC strand, plastic-coated PC strand, etc.

Classification by structure

Prestressed PC strands can be classified into 7 wires, 2 wires, 3 wires, and 19 wires according to the number of wires, and the common one is 7 wires structure.

Galvanized PC strand and aluminum clad PC strand for electric power are also classified into 2, 3, 7, 19, 37, and other structures according to the number of wires, and the commonly used structure is 7 wires.

 

What is PC strand tensioning value?

 

PC strand prestressing tensioning construction design control tension is the tension of PC strand in front of anchor jig after prestressing tensioning is completed. Therefore, in the calculation of the theoretical elongation of PC strand prestressing tension, the distance between the two anchorage points of PC strand should be used as the calculated length of PC strand, but the control tension of PC strand in prestressing tension is controlled at the jack tool anchor, so for the convenience of control and calculation, the distance between the two anchorage points of PC strand, and then The distance between the two anchorage points of PC strand, plus the working length of PC strand in the tensioning jack, is used as the calculated length of the theoretical elongation of PC strand prestressing tension. In PC strand prestressing tensioning, most of the exposed part of the PC strand is wrapped by anchorage and jack, so the tensile elongation of the PC strand cannot be measured directly on the PC strand, so the piston stroke of the tensioning jack can only be used to calculate the tensile elongation of PC strand, but at the same time, the anchor plug retraction of the whole process of PC strand tensioning should be subtracted. The load-carrying capacity of the PC strand should be 4-6 times the total traction force.

 

Where is the PC strand used?

 

Galvanized PC strand is usually used for load-bearing ropes, ties, reinforcing cores, etc. It can also be used as ground wires for overhead power transmission, blocking ropes on both sides of highways, or structural ropes in building structures. The commonly used prestressing PC strand is an uncoated low relaxation prestressing PC strand, also galvanized, commonly used in bridges, construction, water conservancy, energy, and geotechnical engineering, etc. The unbonded prestressing PC strand is commonly used in floor slabs, foundation engineering, etc.
